This church in Kisiljevo was first mentioned in some sources from 1824. As the sources say, on August 8th/20th, 1824 Duke Milos granted
500 coins (taken from Djurdjevdan's taxes) to the church and they were paid on 14th/26th August,1824. A year later, on 20th August/1st September the peasants from Kisiljevo issued a written confirmation by which they granted a meadow to the priest Jelisej Markovic. The first, although short, desciption of the church in Kisiljevo was written by Joakim Vujic, who visited it on 7th/9th June,1826. He wrote:"This village(Kisiljevo) is very big, has about 80 homes and it is situated at the Danube. In the centre of the village, there is church made of wood, thatched and covered with cattail mat. Cruel Turks damaged and burnit it. I couldn't find out who the founder was, but it is dedicated to St.Nicholas, and everything inside the church has been made according to church costums. Not far away from the church, there is one
school without a teacher. "On 9th/21st December, 1823 Duke Milos issued a proclamation, no. 3523, ordering the inventory of all newly built churches in Serbia. In the reports,as a result of the proclamation, it is written that the church in Kisiljevo (St.Nicholas's Church),in Ram Region, was built in 1822.
