Veliko Gradiste; Zatonje Marsh is the most popular place for a
special freshwater fishbabushka. Due to shallow warm water this fish is
caught in large amounts mainly with worms, rain worms, petljasi,
bolonjezi, and pufi. Larger fish can be caught down the river around
Zatonje. The reeds in winter querters are full of this fish, but it is
not caught there easily.The winter quarters are deserted, the pumps
rarely work so it is almost impossible to catch fish. The embankment
between Silver Lake and Veliko Gradiste is an excellent place for
fishing and it is largely visited. During the day fishing is disturbed
by coattails, so some fishermen catch large pieces of babushka only at
night. In the very city you can only fish for small perch with
twisters. Babushka can be caught near the embankment but the spot
should be first cleared from grass and some fish food should be
supplemented. 5 to 6 meters long fish of 500 grams can be caught on
worms . In Vince and Usije babushka is caught wth bates called pufi.
Boza Selimovic from Pozarevac caught a catfish of 94 kg and 2.3 metres
long near Golubac querry on 29th April. You can fish for amur of 5 to
10 kg at the Silver Lake, but only at places regularaly supported with
corn of honey, vanilla and banana flavor. You can also use corn to
fish for deverika and babushka but only at some spots. We ask fesherman
not to catch small carp as they are regularly used for stocking the
lake with fish. If you go to the River Pek, you can fishfor small
skobalj and klen.
